Question: I need your expertise! My Chi is on its last leg and I use it almost every day to either smooth or curl my hair. Is there something better than a Chi these days? What should I buy?

Answer: CHI is still a great consumer brand. There are many good brands out there though, including Sedu, FHI, and T3. I also find that many hair product brands offer great quality styling tools at more affordable prices.

The most important thing is too look for an iron that has good quality negative-ion producing plates, preferably solid ceramic, tourmaline, or titanium. Read the materials section of this post for more details. An adjustable heat dial is also essential and you should always use the lowest heat setting possible that will still give you a good result.
